Brian has booked 20 seats for a performance of Sweet Charity at the Karalyka on Friday 25 October for the Club, price $50.  This will replace a fellowship night and he suggests we can arrange a pre-dinner meal.  Bookings are needed by the end of this month confirmed by payment to Ray.  The performance is by the Mountain District Musical Society who had an excellent run with Phantom a month ago.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT
This week I wanted to write about one of Rotary's best worldwide humanitarian projects, Polio. The RC of Wandin has been a long time supporter of this project and again in July of this year we donated $1500 to this International Project. We have done this each year for a number of years now, and by our early donation in the Rotary year we enable the amount we donate to be multiplied four times, by matching grants within Rotary and then a doubling effect by the Gates Foundation in USA. So what does our $6000 actually achieve, well it vaccinates well over 10,000 children in impoverished areas in Our World. Whilst this project does seem to have been going a long time now, we are in fact changing one child's life at a time. Does it not make you proud to be able to say, "I am a Rotarian"? On Oct 24th it is World Polio Day. Let us share the message.
National Youth Science forum is a Rotary program held each year in January for year 12 students who have an added ability and interest in Science. This year it is being held again in Canberra and Brisbane. If you know a student who fits the profile please bring their name forward. It is an opportunity for Rotarians to provide support and interest by being part of the supervisory team and providing care and support to students and fostering excellence in Science. So if you want a week's holiday in Jan let me know.
Last Wed Night we met at the Hub for what eventuated to be a great night of food, fun and fellowship. Our Guest Speaker, who was to present on a community activity to supporrt children in Bali had to cancell at the last minute. Always a program nightmare! At very short notice Brian ably stepped in and conducted a night of Bingo. I have to admit that this was a novelty for me, as I had never played. I know, where had I been hiding ! But when the winning prizes of two bottles of wine were on offer, it was a case of "heads down". Lo and behold when I had only two numbers left, Pauline Byrne called out Bingo, followed by one number more and Tim Manders followed. Thanks Brian for such a novel night .
This Wed we have a Board meeting at the Bendigo Bank board room . For those interested pizza is on offer from 7.00pm. All members are invited to attend.
Well thats it from me,Yours in Rotary and thanks for reading
