Providing personal support in Bali since Covid-19

Initially, Helen moved to Bali to live and volunteer with a foundation that supports young people to gain knowledge and work in the tourism industry this was open to youth from poorer backgrounds. In 2020 that direction changed dramatically due to COVID-19. In Bali, with no tourism, and no social support/ money or funds for many Balinese families, with so many employed in tourism in some way, support was needed.  Over the COVID period, she started a small charity to help support her local community, it was funded by myself, and as time went on friends and family started to support me.

Helen now supports many villages in North Bali where she lived in Lovina Singaraja with food relief parcels, bedding, mattresses, basic kitchen needs, and at times medical help.

Currenly she  has focussed on water, something in Australia we take for granted. We go to the tap and we can drink it, but not so for Bali, you cannot drink the water. Even bottled water isn’t great. Water filters cost approx. $40 each and provide 99.999 percent clean water to drink. It does not have to be boiled once filtered.
