Hi everyone,
Last Tuesday morning, I attended a meeting at the Wandin CWA and provided morning tea to the ladies of the club.
The reason for going was to thank them on behalf of Wandin Rotary, for decorating the Wandin cenotaph on Anzac Day with crocheted poppies.
They made 500 of them, each one taking approximately one hour and formed the words Lest we Forget on the fence surrounding the cenotaph, as well as on the nature strip outside the fence.
Again, thank you all again for those at the CWA who spent many hours making the poppies.
On Wednesday, we had our monthly board meeting, and the club is in a sound financial year as we close this Rotary year and go into the year ahead.
Points of discussion included confirmation of a RYLA attendee in July, the final steps in providing a car to the Police Proactive Unit of Victoria Police based in Lilydale with a $40,000 grant from the Wandin Seville Bendigo Bank and preparation for the Artisans market later this month and the Winter Solstice Concert on the 17 th of July.
On Friday evening, Ben and I attended the first home game of the Wandin Bulldogs veterans home game against the Yarra Glen River Pigs. As part of
the veteran’s team startup year, Wandin Rotary gave the WFNC a donation of $1800 to buy their jumpers. The Rotary logo is included on the front of their
tops.
There will be a meeting of the car show committee on Tuesday evening to discuss and put in place plans for the 2026/2007 season.
As we all know, this is our major fundraising event for the club and from the previous four shows were enabled to make a significant contribution to the RCH foundation.

On Wednesday evening we are back at the Wandin Community Hub, where we look forward to inducting our newest member, Martha Cleary.
