President's Message
PRESIDENT’S
What a fantastic night we had on Wednesday past when we presented to the President and committee of the Templestowe and Yarra Valley Auxillary of the Royal Childrens Hospital a cheque for $20,000 to put along with their target of $100K for the specific purpose of creating a Gene Cell therapy unit within RCH. This is as a result of our endeavors and sponsorship from the Car Show. We also had representatives from Seville CFA, Upper Yarra RC and Yellingbo CFA along with our bar assistants and a number of our sponsors. We were able to say thank you to all including the Rotarians and partners who assisted. Without everyone's assistance the Car Show would not happen. Thanks also to the Inner Wheel represented by Ann & Val who provided such a delightful selection of finger food. It really was a fantastic night of celebration.
It is timely that last week was National Volunteer Week | May 19–25. Volunteering is more than just giving your time — it’s about creating meaningful connections, building stronger communities, and supporting one another. This year’s theme, Connecting Communities, reminds us how acts of kindness ripple outward. Altruism is one of the 8 pillars of wellbeing — and so is social connection. Volunteering nourishes both and often teaches us just as much as we give. To all volunteers: thank you for the hard work in making the Rotary Club of Wandin a strong organization where we punch well above our weight. Despite our small membership, we have consistently contributed significant volunteer hours. Without your efforts, the Club would not be able to support our Community, Foundation, Australian Rotary Health, Local Schools, Ryla, NYSF, Romac, the RCH Foundation and Wheelchairs for Kids (to name a few).
Well thats it from me, see you on Wed night at the Hub, Yours in Rotary , Paul.
