President's Report
Hi all,

No Report this week

Yours in Rotary,
Tim
Editors Note

Hi All Hope everyone is doing well

Last week we had a fantastic guest speaker in Scott Casey from Street Angels who spoke on youth homelessness and how he works within that and homelessness in general.

I for one wish we had more time to ask questions and hear from him but what we did get was brilliant and eye opening and gave i think some of us even more ideas for projects that we as a club want to pursue

Jeanette also Spoke about RSC which is Rotary Safe Communities and her continual involvement and Chairing of it and how much clubs around the District and other areas are doing similar projects to support and promote it it is a great project worthy of attention by rotary and the wider community

This week we are having a casual fellowship night at Branded burgers in Seville hope many can attend i unfortunately will be at Knox tavern with Knox and another club but it should be a good night

then this weekend we have our next artisans market and it should also be very good if the weather holds in a nice pattern

also apologies for the late bulletin was very sickly last night and completely forgot i feel very bad about it

have a good week everyone and stay safe

Cheers, Bailey

ROMAC News

John and his foster mother Mary will be arriving in Melbourne from Vanuatu on 8th of August.

They will initially be home hosted in Yarrambat until we arrive home.

John’s 1st appointment with his surgeon will be on 12th August with a follow up on 19th August.

At this time, we should get an idea of the schedule for the treatment of his club foot.

We are very grateful to Warwick Bisley, who has kindly offered to assist as he lives very close to St Vincents hospital.

We will keep you informed of Johns progress.

These two grant outlines were submitted to our district for consideration.  It is planned to conduct a forum at the club meeting on 5 August in order to flesh the WYHO outline into a full grant application.

Project Name: Wandin Youth Homeless Outreach (WYHO)
Youth homelessness in the outer east is often hidden, with young people couch-surfing or sleeping rough across semirural areas like Wandin, Lilydale, and Warburton.

WYHO proposes localized early intervention and prevention operating directly in the Yarra Ranges, focussing on a ‘dropin’ hub.

By partnering with existing regional networks, the program would provide on-the-ground assessment and mental health support.

This project has developed from Wandin’s leadership in the District 9815 Safe Communities Program.

Project Name: Primary School English and Rotary Speech Competition

We seek a grant to partially fund a regional primary school public speaking program which directly addresses Victorian Curriculum Level 5 and 6 English standards by teaching students how to plan, rehearse, and deliver presentations using varied vocal tones, language features, and non-verbal strategies, focussing on the annual Wandin Rotary Speech Contest.

We aim to assist the transition of classroom work into real-world civic engagement. The project embeds professional Toastmasters coaching in the 6 outereastern Primary Schools, culminating in a live showcase evaluated against the Rotary Four-Way Test.
