PRESIDENTS REPORT
On Wednesday, we had our first car show for the season, and another
lesson learnt about the logistics of holding this public event. Last year
we had major issues in our first show, with the decision to park
spectators in the back paddock. Problems arose with cars exiting the
venue, so we reverted to using the Field Days paddock for future shows.

This year, attempting to have gates open at 5pm, caused a major build
up of cars outside the reserve. The club is now in agreement that the
gates will open at 4pm, to get the show cars into the venue as quickly as
possible.

My thanks go to all members, the RCH auxiliary, the Seville
CFA, Upper Yarra Rotary and all the other volunteers who assisted in
collecting entry fees and parking the show cars.

A special thanks go to Brian, who has worked tirelessly in the lead up, and on the the day of our first show. It was a very successful evening with over 400 cars and 40 bikes attending and a good result in Bar sales. Looking forward to the
December show, which should prove to be bigger and better!

On Friday evening I attended the District 9815 Annual General Meeting
and dinner. There were 46 club presidents in attendance, and District
officials, with a number of projects and District initiatives presented. A
major topic was Club Excellence Awards, and I will be providing
information on this in the coming months. At our next meeting I will give
a short summary on the evening’s agenda.

This week’s meeting is at the Hub for our Annual General Meeting and
Brian will give a short talk on the Rotary Foundation, as November is
Foundation month. We need as many members as possible to attend as
this is our opportunity to nominate office bearers for the next Rotary
year.

Please send Tim attendance details by Monday.

Yours in Rotary
