Presidents Report

Last Wednesday we had our annual Changeover night up at the 2 Peas café at Mont
Delancy.

A great night was enjoyed by all that could make it.

Some special thanks went out on the night to a selection of Honoured guest including Hon Bridget Vallence – State Member for Casey, Gus (& Rebecca) Rozycki – Rotary Community Group Leader, Barb Nicoll – RCH Auxiliary, Paul Coleman – Upper Yarra Rotary President, Arun Marappan – Lilydale Rotary President.

We were also honoured to be accompanied by many additional guests including Wandin Rotary Partners, Members of the Inner Wheel & Friends.

Peter gave a great speech on his time as the 2025/26 President and shared some of his great experiences and reflections.

I was then inaugurated into the role and announced the incoming board and liaison roles within the club.

The catering was spot on, led by Chelsea who also assists with the foodservice at
the HUB on regular Wednesday nights.

I am looking forward to a strong and prosperous year ahead. We have a strong club
with a great deal of motivation and drive. We may not have the quantity, but we sure
have the quality to make things happen.

John Nauka from Tanna Island Vanuatu is 4 yrs old and has a club foot which needs correction. He will be accompanied by Mary who has good English.

John’s arrival has been delayed due to an injury to the foot needing surgery. The surgeon has finally agreed that the foot is now healthy enough to operate on.

Johns surgery will be done at St Vincents Private in the city following initial consultations which will be on August 12th.

We urgently need assistance with home hosting and /or attending medical appointments until end of September.

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience Rotary at work and be part of changing a child’s life forever.

We have hosted many children and can guarantee that you receive far more than you give.

No medical experience is necessary, just a loving heart.
