PRESIDENTS REPORT
On Wednesday the 26th of November, the winner of the Wandin Rotary Primary School Speech Contest, Dixi Shaake-Taylor competed in the District Final of the competition. Dixi competed against 13 other speakers from a total of 8 schools and  I am pleased to report that Dixi took out First place in the contest. Well done Dixi! This followed in the foot steps of Mollie Benson, who also won the District speech competition in the previous year. Both girls attend Woori Yallock Primary School, and Principal Oliver should be congratulated on running a first class public speaking subject in the school curriculum.
Both Dixi and Mollie have been invited to present their speeches at next years Australia Day Breakfast. This has yet to be confirmed.
On Wednesday the 3rd of November, Wandin Rotarians and their partners gathered at Old Oak Orchard to pack apples foy kids. We packed approximately 1300 1 kg bags of apples, which were delivered to the schools on the next Day. Thanks go to Gavan for organising the event and providing the bbq.
Last Wednesday evening, we gathered at Warrantina for our Christmas Party, and many thanks go to Tim and Annemarie Manders for hosting the night, especially at short notice. Thanks also go to everyone who contributed to the abundance of food on the night.
On Tuesday this week, we have our final Board meeting for the calendar year, at the Bendigo Bank board room – 7.30pm. All members welcome to attend. Finally, its time for our 2nd car show on Wednesday evening. Gates are scheduled to open at 4pm and its going to be a hot one! All hands-on deck, it should be a big one!!

Yours in Rotary
President Peter Johnson
