PRESIDENTS REPORT
HI, All,

Last Wednesday we had our March Board meeting, and we discussed projects coming up in the next few months.

One of the resolutions that the Board agreed to, was a donation to the Southern Cross Yarra Valley Camps.

We had a presentation a few weeks ago from Tim and Jacinta who gave a good insight into the positive results from young people who are going through difficult circumstances. The club will donate $1000 to enable 2 young people to attend the Oasis camp in Mt Evelyn.

This week we will be having our last car show for the season and we look forward to another successful event.

As a reminder to all club members and friends of Rotary, the car how is our biggest fund raiser, with around $20,000 being donated to the RCH each year.

Accordingly, we need as much support as we can to run the event, especially with setup from 2pm and cleanup at around 7.30, 8pm.

On the 25th of March, we will be presenting Vocational Service awards to 8 deserving members of the local community. This will be held at Warratina Lavender Farm Tea rooms.

Have a good week everyone.

Yours in Rotary
President Peter

ROMAC

Can you begin to comprehend what Antonious’s life must have been like for his 14 years?
ROMAC is working on bringing him to Melbourne from Timor Leste, for treatment which will likely take 6 months.
The surgeon has agreed to take the case pro bono and we are waiting for the quote from the hospital.
As you can imagine, this will be an expensive exercise to give Antonious a chance at a normal life.
Might be time to think about  another ROMAC fundraiser? To donate directly, go to the ROMAC website www.romac.life

To all Wandin Rotary Members

I thought to get an online booking service so stall holders can apply.  I thought to get this happening asap so we can get about 16 stall holders booked in for the first event being May 31st Sunday 10am to 4pm.

I am sending it to you all so you have some knowledge of how this will all work for us.

Tomorrow I will be asking all the schools to come along to our first event, then they can take pictures of the Huge Yarra Valley EEL and go back and think of a name to enter into the name competition.

So in May they can come and see the EEL and Nominate a Name. With 10 local schools each nominating a Name thereafter people can come along and bid on the name (put money in a jar at the event (I will set up an online bidding donation service) .  https://www.trybooking.com/online-giving  this can go viral.

The name with the most donations wins.

All Donations go to Wandin Rotary for ???????  Maybe the school who wins gets Something Special ???????

It would be nice to have a list of what the money goes to - so people will know what they are supporting.

Next job is to set up the "Wandin Rotary - Community Connections - Creative Artisans Village" committee & program which I will do when I get back from Yamba 24th March.

Meanwhile, I will grow the eel, create a website / booking service / bidding service - for the WRCCCAV  put the online activities into place so we can do some marketing and bring in people to help us with this event.

I have 2 hours Wed/Thur to work on this.

Best Regards
Jeanette Jensen
