President's Message
Alan Henderson
At last week’s meeting it’s becoming more evident that we are in a stage of redesign to enable the club to move forward.
Paul Bailey Principal of Wandin Primary was invited to come along and give an insight to the past and the future of the school. Our Clubs contribution to the school was well appreciated. The children enjoyed the bag of apples and the sausage sizzle for their fundraiser “Wheelchairs for Kids”. They are looking forward to competing in this year’s Primary School Speech Competition. I encourage the Club to take this opportunity to increase the involvement with the community by offering our support.
Thanks to Mick and his team. The meal last week “Roast Pork”, it was delicious and was appreciated by our guests.
Next week we have Bob Allardice Rotary Club of Nunuwading giving us a presentation on a Project his club is involved with, Recycling Playgrounds.
As you may be aware Pat Cullen the Chair of the Wandin Custom Car and Bike Show committee has organised with the RCH (Royal Children’s Hospital) to make a presentation on behalf of the Rotary Club of Wandin. On the 18th June at 2pm at The Hub. It’s hoped many members are able to support Pat and his Committee with the $20k cheque donation made up from sponsorship of the show and donations from the public.
It has been agreed that the Clubs Annual Changeover and the 40th Birthday be held at the same time on the 26th June more details to follow.
Paul Martin is working on the arrangements for the Changeover and Brian Hodgson, Garry Byrne and Cliff Riseborough are organising the Birthday Celebrations.
Who are the two young ladies with President Alan?
