It was encouraging to see a larger than usual attendance with guests and friends for this time of year. Brian chaired the meeting and introduced Rachel Wilson our Guest Speaker from “The Yarra Valley Anglican School Hearing Unit”. Rachel gave us a very interesting presentation explaining the support that is given to children with varying degrees of deafness. The program has been going for over fifty years with some of the students coming back to help with the program.
Huge thanks must go to Jeanette, for cooking and serving up a delicious meal, with help from Sue Hodgson. I’m looking forward to next week’s culinary delight.
Max was kind enough to offer a trailer load of wood to be raffled or given away. It’s still up for discussion where and when. Thanks to those Rotarians and Max’s neighbour Adrian who helped split the wood. Peter should be back next week, if not needing two weeks as per the concussion rule.
By all accounts the Wandin Inner Wheel Club ran a very successful Fashion Show, supporting Cord Blood, with around 170 guests in attendance. It has been quite a while since the last time it was run. Thank to those Rotarians who helped setup the hall and to the partners and friends who supported their night.
This week 7th of May we are meeting at “The Hub” 6:00 for 6:30. We have either Sarah Wilson or Michaela Alcorn from Interchange Outer East giving a presentation on where they are at present?
Please be kind enough to let Tim Manders, as he is now the Attendance Officer, know if you are bringing a friend/guest by Monday 12:00 noon to allow enough time to organise catering!
