PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Well the weather had promised a balmy night and so it turned out just right for the first Car Show for the year. And what a spectacular night it was. Lots of exhibitors turned up, lots of spectators and a great band. The Bar was highly successful, and our Foodies did a roaring trade. So many positive comments from visitors and exhibitors, just a great result for all our supporters, friends and Rotarians. Of course, whilst the back car park was only three quarters full, a lot of visitors decided to park by the side of the road and this is potentially a problem. We hope and trust we will have the car park paddock on the opposite side of the road open for our Christmas Show in Dec.
On Friday night I attended a District Presidents meeting where lots of good information and presentations were delivered. November is Foundation month and of course this is our charity of choice, as what we give comes back to the District in the form of grants. Foundation also runs end Polio Plus and Peace scholarships along with many other programs. There is a program commencing Feb 2025 for developing new satellite clubs, and as it is our intention to commence one, I will be looking for support to attend this seminar. A great presentation was provided on Gippsland Centenary House which is attached to Latrobe Regional Hospital and provides supported accomodation for both patients and visitors to that Hospital from all over Gippsland but in particular East Gippsland where the average patient has to travel 143 kms each way to reach the hospital. This Centenary House was commenced in the early 2002's and has strongly benfited by strong support from Rotary District 9820 to the tune of over $700K. It accomodates upto 30 people each night.
This week we have a fellowship night. Please let Tracey Henderson know if attending. Also our Christmas function will be at The Hub on Wed Dec 11. Please invite family and friends. More details next week. Thats all from me,
Yours in Rotary

Very sadly, Nelson has returned home to PNG as the doctors decided that it would be too dangerous to operate on him. They feared that any incision could cause life threatening bleeding, and they were not prepared to take the risk. Very upsetting, but we can’t save them all.
