President's Message
Hi all
It was a good get together last Wednesday night at the Home Hotel in Launching Place. We had a great turn out of Rotarians, partners and friends.
On Thursday night we had our 3rd Annual Primary School Speech Competition, which was held at Woori Yallock Primary School. There were 4 schools in the contest – Don Valley, Wandin North, Wandin Yallock and Woori Yallock. The students were well prepared and should be commended on excellent speeches. In 3rd place was Tariq Winfield from Wandin North whose topic was “ If I had three wishes they would be”…. In 2nd place was Micah Rolland from Don Valley whose topic was” What my superpower would be”. And the winner of the speech contest was Dixi Shaak-Taylor from Woori Yallock – whose topic was " If I could change the world I would…"
A big thank you to principal of Woori Yallock Primary School Oliver Thockloth for hosting the evening. Thanks also to our friends from Toastmasters Marlene Sinclair, Judy Murphy, Nola Sharp and Samnang Robbins for running and judging the contest. Lastly, a big thanks to Jeanette for helping to bring the night together and to Brian and Tim for being timekeepers.
This Wednesday we will be meeting at the Hub, with a presentation from Jeanette on the formation of satellite / sub clubs. Looking forward to discussing this venture with you all.
