Last week’s meeting was held at Wandin Pizza Restaurant. Brian brought along a selection of wines to taste with our meal, these were complimentary from Tahbilk Wines. This was followed by Tim with the final planning for ANZAC Day Service. Overall it was a fun night and thanks to Brian and Tim for their efforts.
The Rotary Club of Wandin showed its commitment to supporting the local community by holding the ANZAC Day service. It was well supported by the large number of people in attendance. It was encouraging to see and hear from the children from Wandin Yallock and Wandin North Primary Schools for their speeches and assistance with the flags. A few other people to thank for their support of our club:- Peter Paterson- Mt Evelyn RSL, Meg Benger on the Bugle, Aaron Violi – Federal Member for Casey, Bridget Vallence – MP State Member for Evelyn and the Rotary members who were able to help make the day a success. A special thanks to the Wandin Seville Uniting Church for the Morning Tea.
For the next two weeks we are meeting at “The Hub” 6:00 for 6:30 start. I encourage everyone to bring a friend along to hear the Speaker’s history, mission and their achievements. Please be kind enough to book in guests/visitors by Monday 12:00 noon with the attendance officer to allow enough time to organise catering!
On the 30th April we have Rachel Wilson from The Yarra Valley Anglican School Hearing Unit.
The week after 7th May we have St John of God returning to give us an update on where they are at present?
Reminder to encourage those interested to book tickets to support the Wandin Inner Wheel Fashion Show, as they are planning another Fundraiser for Cord Blood Research. The Fashion Parade is on this Friday 2nd May, details are included in the bulletin.
